The RAW 4x4 PR540S is a shock absorber listed to fit the Toyota Prado 150 Series (GJR150, KDJ150, KDJ155) without KDSS, in both LWB and SWB wagon. It's the non-KDSS damper for this platform.
A shock absorber controls the spring's movement — it stops the suspension oscillating after a bump and keeps the tyre loaded against the road or track. As dampers wear, a 150 Series starts to float and pitch over undulations, the steering feels vaguer over bumps, and the wagon takes longer to settle after a dip. Fresh shocks bring back that settled, controlled ride, which matters most on a loaded touring Prado that sees plenty of dirt. The PR540S is RAW 4x4's listed shock for the 150 Series Prado without KDSS, and the record publishes no length or travel figure, so none is stated here.
The 150 Series came with or without Toyota's KDSS — a hydraulically linked sway-bar system — and the two configurations use different suspension hardware. That's why dampers are listed specifically for one or the other. The PR540S is the listed unit for the WITHOUT-KDSS Prado, covering both LWB and SWB. The first step before ordering is confirming your vehicle isn't KDSS-equipped.
Oak Flats Muffler Men fits 150 Series dampers in-house, serving the Illawarra. We confirm whether your Prado is KDSS or non-KDSS, match the shock to your springs, fit it on the hoist and check travel and clearance. Send your build — GJR150, KDJ150 or KDJ155 — and we'll confirm the right unit before ordering.
