The RAW 4x4 RL977 is a rear leaf spring listed to fit the 2020-on Isuzu D-Max (8th-generation) dual-cab ute. A leaf spring carries the load and sets rear ride height — a different job to a shock — and it's the part that determines how the back of the ute sits under weight.
What does a rear leaf spring do here?
The rear of the D-Max rides on leaf springs that support the load over the rear axle and hold the back of the ute at its working height. As the original leaves settle, or when you carry more weight, the rear can sag and the stance changes. The RL977 is a replacement rear leaf for this generation — the part you fit when the back end has gone soft, as opposed to a shock that controls how it settles after a bump.
