The RAW 4x4 RL978 is a rear leaf spring listed to fit the 2020-on Isuzu D-Max (8th-generation) dual-cab ute. As a leaf spring it's a load-carrying part that sets rear ride height, which is where it differs from the dampers in the range.
Why fit a rear leaf spring?
Leaf springs carry the load over the rear axle and hold the back of the D-Max at its working height. Over time the original leaves settle, or you may be carrying more weight than the standard pack was set up for, and the rear drops. The RL978 is a replacement rear leaf for the 8th-gen D-Max — fitted to restore the rear ride height and support, separate from a shock, which deals with how the suspension settles.
