Safari Snorkel.0L Diesel 1kd-FTV Engine (SS188HF) fits selected vehicle applications.
Category: Cold air induction systems

Cut for the 150 Series Prado: the Safari SS188HF is a snorkel listed to fit the Toyota Prado 3.0L diesel (1KD-FTV). It raises the engine's air intake to the A-pillar on Toyota's mid-size wagon that does a lot of long-distance touring.
The 150 Series Prado is the wagon many families take across the country, and its 1KD-FTV three-litre diesel draws its factory air from low in the engine bay. The SS188HF moves that pickup up to roof height, so the air filter feeds on cleaner air on dusty trails and the engine has a higher point before water can be ingested during a crossing. The body is moulded to the 150 Series guard and pillar.
It's listed to fit the Toyota 150 Series Prado with the 3.0L 1KD-FTV diesel. Snorkel bodies are shaped to a specific generation's panel work, so this one is cut for the 150 Series rather than the earlier 120 Series. Confirm your exact build and engine with the workshop before ordering.
The reason to fit a snorkel is cleaner air to the filter on long dirt drives and a higher point at which water can be drawn in. It's not a power figure — none is published — and it doesn't change your filter service interval. Treat the SS188HF as a higher, cleaner pickup for the 150 Prado diesel.
We fit Safari snorkels in-house at our Illawarra workshop. The job is a careful cut-and-seal on the guard with the body mounted to the pillar and sealed to the intake. At an RRP of $583, bring the Prado in and we'll confirm the 150 Series body match before any cutting.
