Designed to re-use the factory tips, the MPI Automotive SSMBM360MF is a set of dual rear mufflers for the FG GT V8 sedan, built at a 2in bore. The OE-tip re-use is the headline feature — you keep the original tailpipe finishers and renew only the silencers behind them.
What does 're-use of OE tips' mean?
The SSMBM360MF is engineered so the original-equipment tips carry over rather than being supplied with the muffler. That keeps the factory tailpipe look on the FG GT while you replace the dual rear mufflers behind them, at a 2in bore. It's the back pair of silencers on the V8 sedan's twin-pipe system.
Why renew the rear mufflers?
As the final silencers, the rear mufflers shape the tailpipe note and are the parts that rust or blow out first. Replacing them refreshes the sound and seals up a tired back section without disturbing the rest of the system. Keeping the OE tips means the car's rear-end appearance stays factory-correct.
