What does the two-muffler layout give you?
This SSMKHN0092 carries two mufflers in series along its 2.5in run, the most silenced of the VZ V6 layouts MPI lists. That keeps the cabin note settled and the drone down on a six-cylinder daily — the choice for an owner who wants the extractor breathing without lifting the volume much over stock. The 2.5in bore also keeps gas speed up for everyday low-down response across whichever body you run.
What does the system replace?
It's a header-back package: tuned-length extractors at the cylinder heads, a 2.5in run and two mufflers. The factory cast manifolds and the original VZ exhaust both come out and the SSMKHN0092 goes in as one matched set, with the primaries sized to the 2.5in pipe so the six-cylinder system flows together rather than as mismatched parts.
What's an extractor and what changes?
Extractors replace the restrictive cast manifolds the VZ V6 left the factory with, giving each cylinder its own primary tube before they merge to cut back-pressure and help scavenging. The trade-offs are honest: they sit in the engine-bay heat zone, take labour to fit, and change the note — here held in check by the twin-muffler silencing.
