A hotdog is a compact, straight-through resonator-style silencer rather than a baffled rear muffler. It takes the hard edge off the exhaust note without choking flow the way a heavier muffler can, so the SSMKHN0260 lands between an open no-muffler build and a fully muffled one — louder and freer than a rear muffler, more composed than running the 2.5in dual wide open.
