Its single-muffler-to-tailpipe layout makes it the most open of the dual 3in ute builds, fed by 1¾in primaries.
What does the muffler-and-tailpipe layout give you?
Unlike the twin-muffler or hotdog ute builds, the SSMKHN0414 runs a single muffler and then a tailpipe to the rear. One silencing stage rather than two means it's the more open of the dual 3in ute options — fewer restrictions between the muffler and the exit. We publish no sound figure and won't quote one; this is simply the layout with the least muffling in the family.
What does dual 3in mean on the ute?
Dual means each cylinder bank carries its own 3in pipe rather than the banks merging into one run. Under the VU/VY/VZ ute tray that keeps the two sides separate to the rear. The 1¾in primaries feed both banks, replacing the factory cast manifolds with mandrel-bent tube-and-merge runners.
