The MPI Automotive EMG222 is an extractor gasket set of 2, listed to fit the Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 4.7L. The two gaskets seal both banks of the V8 where the extractors or manifolds meet the heads.
Why a set of two?
A V8 has a cylinder bank on each side, so each side needs its own exhaust gasket. The EMG222 is supplied as a set of 2 to seal both banks of the Jeep Grand Cherokee's 4.7L V8 in one part number. Each gasket seals the flange between the extractors or manifold and the head so exhaust gas does not leak at the joint; they are consumable sealing parts, not performance parts.
