The Pacemaker KB8501-XXMX is a single 3in exhaust kit listed to fit the Isuzu D-Max 3L 4JJ1 turbo-diesel built July 2010 to July 2012, built with a muffler and no catalytic converter. The cat-less build is the defining feature — this is the off-road version for the later-run 4JJ1 D-Max.
Is it road legal?
This kit comes without a catalytic converter, so on a road-relevant diesel system it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. We won't soften that — leaving the converter out changes the emissions hardware the D-Max left the factory with. If road registration matters, the with-cat version is the one to look at. Confirm your intended use with the workshop before fitting.
What does the single 3in kit cover?
At a 3in bore, this kit steps up from a tighter stock system for the 3L 4JJ1 turbo-diesel of the July 2010 to July 2012 D-Max. It runs a single 3in pipe through to a muffler, which keeps the note in check even with the cat left out. The 3in figure is the hard number; material isn't published, so we won't claim stainless or aluminised.
