The Pacemaker KB9200-XXMR is a single 3in exhaust system listed to fit the manual Mitsubishi Challenger PB–PC 2.5L 4D56T turbo-diesel (2009–2015), built with a muffler and a resonator and no catalytic converter. The cat-less, resonator-and-muffler build is the defining feature — the off-road version that still chases drone with a resonator.

Is it road legal?

This system comes without a catalytic converter, so on a road-relevant diesel it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. We won't soften that — removing the converter changes the emissions hardware the Challenger left the factory with. If road registration matters, the with-cat version is the one to look at. Confirm your intended use with the workshop before fitting.

What does the resonator add?

Even as the off-road build, this system keeps a resonator alongside its muffler. The resonator targets a specific frequency to cut drone without a broad change in volume, so the cabin stays more liveable at cruise while the muffler handles general quietening. It's a more resolved pairing than a muffler on its own. No decibel figures are published, so we won't quote any.

What does the 3in manual system cover?

At a 3in bore, this is sized up from a tighter stock system for the 2.5L 4D56T, listed specifically for the manual Challenger so the routing suits the gearbox and crossmember. The 3in figure is the hard number; material isn't published, so we won't claim stainless or aluminised. Confirm your exact Challenger and that it's the manual with the workshop before ordering.

What does fitting involve at our Illawarra workshop?

Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits the KB9200-XXMR in-house across the Illawarra. We check the 3in routing under the Challenger, confirm the muffler and resonator positions and clearance, and fit the system as a complete off-road section. Send your build and we'll confirm and book the bay.
