The MPI Automotive MBM108MF is a Megaflow centre muffler for the Ford Falcon EB V8, built on a 2in body and finished with a slip connection so it slides over the adjoining pipe rather than needing a flange. It's the mid-system silencer for the EB.
What does the slip connection do?
The defining feature of the MBM108MF is its slip connection — the joint slides over the mating pipe and is clamped, rather than bolting up to a flange. That makes the centre muffler more forgiving to position during fitment, since the overlap lets you set the exact length and alignment before clamping. It's a practical detail for the mid-section of the EB Falcon, where the pipe has to thread cleanly between front and rear.
Where does a centre muffler sit?
A centre muffler is the middle silencing stage, between the front pipe and the rear box. On the EB V8 it tempers mid-range resonance through the cabin floor over the centre run. Swapping it lets you reset the mid-car note without disturbing the silencing behind it. At a 2in body it's matched to the Falcon's standard pipe routing.
