The MPI Automotive MKFD0104 is a 2.5in dual cat-back for the Ford BA/BF V8 sedan, silenced with mufflers. The chambered muffler build is the more subdued of the BA/BF sedan dual cat-backs, leaning on absorption to keep the V8's note measured.
Why the muffler build?
The MKFD0104 runs mufflers rather than a straight-through hotdog. A muffler quietens by absorbing and reflecting sound inside a baffled body, so on the BA/BF V8 sedan this is the measured option — it keeps overall volume in check across the dual system rather than leaving it open. It suits owners refreshing the back of the exhaust without lifting the note. We can't put a number on the sound; the honest test is to hear a comparable fit.
What's the 2.5in dual cat-back layout?
It runs from the catalytic converter back as a dual 2.5in system, carrying each bank along the BA/BF sedan's floor to the rear with mufflers as the silencing stages.
