MPI Automotive Ford Falcon FG 6 Cylinder N/A Sedan Catback Hotdog/Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

Built for the naturally-aspirated FG Falcon six, the MPI Automotive MKFD0172 pairs a hotdog resonator with a rear muffler — a tuning-led cat-back that cleans up cruise drone on the six-cylinder sedan. It's listed to fit the Ford Falcon FG.
This kit is for the N/A FG six, not the turbo. A hotdog resonator ahead of the rear muffler gives the inline-six a tidier, more resolved note than the factory system without the volume of a straight-through-only setup — the rear muffler still does the broad absorption. It's the responsive, road-friendly end of a Falcon cat-back.
A hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator: exhaust passes through a perforated core, so it targets a specific resonant frequency rather than broadly muffling. That makes it good at killing the boom you hear at a steady cruise. Paired with the rear muffler, the MKFD0172 balances a cleaner six-cylinder note against cabin comfort.
It's a cat-back, so it replaces the pipework from the catalytic converter rearward and leaves the emissions hardware in front untouched. MPI hasn't published a bore for this listing, so we confirm the pipe size and fitment against your car rather than guessing.
