The MPI Automotive MKFD0203 is a 2.5in left-and-right cat-back for the Ford FG GT V8 sedan, built around a hotdog silencer. The hotdog is the defining choice — a straight-through resonator that keeps the dual GT system free-flowing while trimming drone.
Why a hotdog for the FG GT?
The MKFD0203 uses a hotdog rather than a chambered muffler: a slim, perforated, straight-through resonator that targets drone frequencies while leaving the gas path largely open. On the FG GT V8 sedan that keeps the note harder-edged and the dual system breathing, which suits the GT character. It tunes resonance rather than blanketing volume. We can't put a number on the sound; hearing a comparable fit is the honest measure.
What's the 2.5in L and R cat-back layout?
It runs from the catalytic converter back as a left-and-right pair on a 2.5in bore. The 2.5in sizing matches the V8 in standard or lightly modified tune, and the dual routing carries each bank along the FG sedan's underbody to the rear.
