The MPI Automotive MKFD0215 is a 2.5in dual cat-back for the Ford FG V8 ute built around a hotdog silencer. The hotdog is the defining choice here — a compact straight-through resonator that controls drone while keeping the dual system free-flowing.
Why a hotdog on this cat-back?
The MKFD0215 uses a hotdog — a slim, perforated, straight-through resonator — rather than a heavily chambered muffler. On the FG V8 ute that means the dual system stays freer-flowing and the note harder-edged, with the hotdog tuning out the worst of the cabin drone rather than blanketing volume. It's the pick when you want the back of the V8 to breathe and keep some character. We can't quote a sound level; hearing a comparable fit is the honest measure.
What's the 2.5in dual cat-back layout?
It runs from the catalytic converter back as a dual 2.5in system, carrying each bank along the FG ute's underbody to the rear. The 2.5in bore matches the V8 in standard or lightly modified tune, and the twin routing is the conventional layout for a V8 ute back half.
