Ford PX2 & PX3 Ranger 3in Turbo Back With Cat & Hotdog, Twin Tip Side Exit.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive MKFD0254T pairs a hotdog with a retained cat: a 3in turbo-back for the PX2 and PX3 Ford Ranger that keeps the catalytic converter, uses a hotdog for silencing, and exits through a twin tip out the side. The with-cat hotdog combo plus side exit is what sets this one apart.
This MKFD0254T keeps the factory catalytic converter and uses a hotdog — a compact straight-through resonator — for silencing. That's a freer-flowing silencer than a full muffler, so the note is on the harder side while the cat stays in place. It's the lightly-silenced, cat-retaining option of the PX2/PX3 turbo-backs.
Rather than a rear tailpipe, the 3in exhaust turns out the side into a twin tip. Side exits clear tow bars and rear bar work and give the twin-tip look ahead of the rear wheel — a routing and appearance choice layered on the with-cat hotdog core.
Because the MKFD0254T keeps the catalytic converter, the cat road compliance hinges on stays in place. It uses a hotdog for light silencing and runs a side exit, so confirm the exact build and any NSW noise and exit-position requirements with the workshop before fitting.
