The MPI Automotive MKFD0255T is the side-exit, muffled cat-delete turbo-back for the PX2 and PX3 Ford Ranger: a 3in turbo-back with no cat, a muffler fitted, and a twin tip out the side. With the cat deleted, it's an off-road-only system despite the muffler keeping the note in check.
What's the muffler doing on a cat-delete system?
Even with the catalytic converter removed, this MKFD0255T fits a muffler, so the note stays more composed than a hotdog-only or no-silencer cat-delete. The muffler handles volume while the deleted cat opens up flow — the more subdued of the cat-delete options, routed out the side into a twin tip.
Why the side-exit twin tip?
Instead of a rear tailpipe, this turns the 3in exhaust out the side of the Ranger into a twin tip. Side exits clear tow bars and rear bar work and give the twin-tip look ahead of the rear wheel — a routing and appearance choice on top of the muffled cat-delete core.
Is it road legal?
No. Because the MKFD0255T deletes the catalytic converter on a turbo-back, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. The fitted muffler keeps the note down, but the cat-delete is what sets the compliance status — there's no softening that.
