The MPI Automotive MKFD0256T is a 3in turbo-back listed to fit the PX2 and PX3 Ford Ranger, finished with a twin-tip side exit, run without the catalytic converter but with a hotdog resonator. The side-exit-with-hotdog combination is what sets it apart from the bare cat-delete builds.
Why the side exit plus a hotdog?
The MKFD0256T pairs two distinguishing features: a twin-tip side exit and a hotdog resonator. The side exit turns the tailpipes out ahead of the rear wheel, and the hotdog — a compact straight-through resonator — takes a little harshness out of the note rather than leaving it completely bare. It is the cat-delete build with a touch of mid-system tuning.
What does a turbo-back without cat involve?
At 3in this turbo-back replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet rearward on the PX2/PX3 Ranger. This version deletes the catalytic converter, which makes it the off-road specification. Because this build deletes the catalytic converter on a road-relevant system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road or competition use only.
