The MPI Automotive MKFD0296 is a 4in dpf-back exhaust listed to fit the Next-Gen T6.2 Ford Ranger V6, run without the centre muffler. With the V6 ute as its target and a 4in bore through the rear, it is the diesel-V6 sizing rather than the four-cylinder fitment.
A 4in dpf-back sized for the V6 Ranger
What marks the MKFD0296 out is the V6-specific 4in routing. The dpf-back format means it picks up from the diesel particulate filter outlet and replaces the run rearward at 4in, a wider path than the standard tubing on the Next-Gen Ranger. It is built for the six-cylinder diesel, not the smaller engines in the model line.
What does deleting the centre muffler change?
Skipping the centre muffler takes out a mid-system silencing chamber. The result is a more open note than the muffled layout, while the DPF and the factory emissions equipment ahead of the system stay exactly where Ford put them — this is a back-half change, not an emissions delete.
