The MPI Automotive MKFD0304T is the side-exit twin-tip version of the pre-DPF Ranger turbo-back: a 3in turbo-back that keeps the catalytic converter, runs without a muffler, and exits through a twin tip out the side. The side-exit twin tip is what sets this one apart from its rear-exit sibling.

What does the side-exit twin tip add?

Instead of routing the tailpipe out the rear, this MKFD0304T turns the exhaust out the side of the Ranger and finishes in a twin tip. Side exits are a common look-and-routing choice on utes, clearing tow bars and rear bar work and giving the twin-tip appearance ahead of the rear wheel. It's the same 3in with-cat, no-muffler core as the rear-exit version, just routed and tipped differently.

What's a no-muffler turbo-back?

A turbo-back changes the exhaust from the turbo outlet back. This one keeps the factory cat but deletes the muffler, so it flows freely and runs a harder, louder note than a muffled system, with the 3in bore sized for the 3.2L diesel. It's the louder-but-cat-retaining option of the pre-DPF Ranger family.

Is it road legal?

This MKFD0304T keeps the catalytic converter, so the cat that road compliance hinges on stays in place. It still deletes the muffler and runs a side exit, so confirm the exact build and any NSW noise and exit-position requirements with the workshop before fitting.
