The MPI Automotive MKFD0305 is the most stripped-back of the pre-DPF Ranger turbo-backs: a 3in turbo-back with no cat and no muffler, listed to fit the PX and PX2 Ford Ranger 3.2L. With the catalytic converter deleted, this is an off-road-only system.
What does a no-cat, no-muffler turbo-back mean?
A turbo-back replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet rearward — a longer span than a cat-back. This MKFD0305 goes further by deleting both the catalytic converter and the muffler, so it's the freest-flowing, loudest layout of the pre-DPF Ranger range: 3in pipe straight through with nothing silencing or scrubbing the gas. It suits a competition or off-road build chasing minimum restriction.
Is it road legal?
No. Because the MKFD0305 deletes the catalytic converter on a turbo-back system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. Removing the cat changes the emissions hardware the Ranger left the factory with — there's no softening that for road use.
Will it suit my pre-DPF Ranger?
