The MPI Automotive MKFD0305T is a 3in turbo-back for the pre-DPF 3.2L Ford Ranger PX and PX2, built without the catalytic converter, without a muffler, and finishing in a side-exit twin tip. Because it deletes the cat, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only.

Why is this off-road only?

The MKFD0305T removes the catalytic converter, so the Ranger no longer carries the emissions hardware it left the factory with. On a road-relevant diesel system that means it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW — it's an off-road part. Deleting the cat takes the vehicle out of road compliance, and there's no softening that.

What does the turbo-back run?

Turbo-back starts at the turbo outlet, a longer span than a cat-back and where a 3.2L diesel like the Ranger's tends to free up. At 3in it's sized for the engine. It runs without a muffler, so it's the loudest and least-restricted layout, exiting through a side-exit twin tip rather than out the rear. We can't quote a sound level — hearing a comparable fit is the honest test.
