The MPI Automotive MKFD0308 deletes the centre muffler: a 3in full system for the FN Ford Mustang V8 (2018) that runs straight pipe through the middle and leaves the silencing to the rear mufflers, finishing in quad tips. Dropping the centre silencer is what sets this one apart from the hotdog-centre systems.
Why delete the centre muffler?
Removing the centre silencer means the mid-section is open pipe rather than a hotdog or muffler. Less silencing in the middle generally lets more of the V8 through, with the rear mufflers carrying the load of keeping volume in check. It's the freer-flowing layout of the FN full-system options for owners chasing a more vocal note without going to a fully open system.
What does the full system cover?
This MKFD0308 is the complete 3in run with no centre muffler, rear mufflers for silencing and quad tips at the tail. As a full system it replaces more of the factory exhaust than a cat-back would, opening the whole length of the car's exhaust rather than just the rear section.
