The MPI Automotive MKFD0314 is a 3in cat-back for the V8 Ford Mustang FM (2015–2017), built without a centre muffler, with rear mufflers and twin tips. Dropping the centre box frees the mid-system for a harder note while the rear mufflers and twin tips finish the car.
Why no centre muffler?
Deleting the centre muffler removes a silencing stage from the middle of the system, so the MKFD0314 carries a freer, harder note than a car running a full set of mufflers — the rear mufflers still do the final quietening, and the twin tips set the exit. On the FM V8 that's a deliberately louder cat-back rather than a stripped-out open system. We can't quote a sound level, so hearing a comparable fit is the honest test.
What does the cat-back include?
This 3in cat-back covers everything from the catalytic converter back to the twin tips. The 3in bore suits the V8's output. Rear mufflers handle the silencing at the tail while the centre position runs open, and the system finishes through twin tips. The factory emissions hardware ahead of the cat is left in place.
Will it suit my FM Mustang?
