The MPI Automotive MKFD0325 pairs a 3in full system with a centre hotdog, listed to fit the BA–BF Ford Falcon BARRA sedan. The hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator mid-system, so this run trades some of the silencing of a full centre muffler for a freer middle section.
What does the centre hotdog change?
A hotdog is a small straight-through resonator — gas passes through a perforated core rather than being bounced around chambers. Used as the centre silencer here, it flows more freely than a full centre muffler and lets a touch more of the BARRA's character through, while the rear muffler at the tail does the main job of keeping volume in check. It's the middle ground between a fully muffled system and a louder hotdog-only build.
Why the 3in bore?
At 3in this is the larger-bore Falcon full system, sized for a BARRA that's been opened up or is destined for more. The bigger single pipe reduces restriction through the system; paired with a hotdog centre and a rear muffler it aims for flow first, with enough silencing to stay liveable on the road.
