Built for the V8 Ford sedan, the MPI Automotive MKFD0335 is a 2.5in dual cat-back with no centre muffler and a rear muffler retained — a deliberate split that frees the middle of the system while keeping a silencer at the tail.
What's a cat-back, and what does this layout do?
A cat-back replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter rearward. The MKFD0335 runs 2.5in dual pipe with the centre muffler deleted and the rear muffler kept, so the bulk of the silencing happens at the back of the car while the mid-section flows more freely. It's a measured way to open up a V8 sedan without going fully straight-through, and it leaves the emissions hardware ahead of the cat untouched.
