Built without a rear muffler, the MPI Automotive MKIZ0022 is a straight-through turbo-back for the Isuzu D-Max 3.0L (2020-on) that keeps the factory catalytic converter. It's the with-cat, muffler-delete option — emissions hardware retained, the silencing pared back.
What does the muffler-delete layout do?
MKIZ0022 runs turbo-back, replacing the exhaust from the turbo outlet rearward, but leaves out a rear muffler so the gas runs straighter to the tailpipe. That gives a more open, louder character than a mufflered version while keeping back-pressure low. Crucially it retains the catalytic converter, so the D-Max keeps the emissions hardware it left the factory with — the part that matters for road compliance on diesel utes.
Is it road legal?
Because MKIZ0022 keeps the catalytic converter, the factory emissions equipment stays in place — the usual sticking point on a diesel ute exhaust. Sound output and any local requirements still need checking, so confirm the exact build and your state's rules with the workshop before fitting.
