The MPI Automotive MKIZ0028 is a turbo-back for the Isuzu D-Max 3.0L (2017–2020) that deletes the catalytic converter and runs a hotdog resonator — an engine-back build that uses a compact straight-through resonator to manage drone.
Why a hotdog on this turbo-back?
A turbo-back replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet rearward. Rather than a full muffler, the MKIZ0028 finishes with a hotdog — a short straight-through resonator that trims resonance and drone while keeping the path open. It's freer-flowing than a muffler-finished turbo-back, but with drone better controlled than a bare no-muffler build.
