Shaped for the seven-seat wagon, the MPI Automotive MKIZ0037 is the MU-X-specific cat-delete with no rear muffler for the Isuzu MU-X 3.0L (June 2012 – January 2017) — built for the enclosed SUV body and stripped of both the converter and the silencer.
What makes this an MU-X part rather than a ute one?
The MU-X carries a full wagon body with a closed rear floor and tailgate, so its exhaust hangs and exits differently to an open-tray D-Max. The MKIZ0037 is routed for that SUV underbody, which is why it's a separate part rather than a shared one. If your vehicle is the wagon, this is the section cut to suit it under the back of the body.
What's removed in this build?
Both the catalytic converter and the rear muffler are gone, leaving the MU-X 3.0L an open path from front to tail with nothing in the line to absorb or reflect sound. That makes it the most stripped-out build for this wagon — chosen for off-road and competition use where free flow matters more than keeping the note muted.
Can the wagon stay registered with it fitted?
No. Deleting the catalytic converter means the MKIZ0037 is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW; it is supplied for off-road and competition use only, and we won't fit it to an MU-X being driven on the public road. There's no softening that.
