The MPI Automotive MKSZ0008 is a 2½in aluminised-steel cat-back for the Suzuki Jimny XL 5-door 1.5L petrol, built without a centre muffler and with a rear muffler. It's the value path to the open, no-centre-silencer layout, the keener-priced way into the louder Jimny cat-back configuration.
What's the no-centre-muffler layout about?
With no centre muffler and only a rear muffler, all the quietening happens at the back of the car. Removing the middle silencer lets the gas run with less restriction, so the 1.5L four sounds more present than it does on a twin-silencer system. It's the configuration for an owner chasing more voice while keeping a rear can to stop it turning raucous.
