The MPI Automotive MKTY0055 is a 3in dual system for the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200 that runs a muffler, finishes with a 4in exit, and deletes the catalytic converter. The cat-delete is the defining call here — this is the no-cat, off-road version, paired with a chambered muffler and a large 4in tailpipe exit.
Is it road legal?
No — the MKTY0055 deletes the catalytic converter, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. Removing the cat takes out emissions hardware the VDJ200 left the factory with, which is the hard line for road compliance on a diesel wagon. We won't soften it: this is an off-road part.
What does the 3in dual with 4in exit do?
Run as a 3in dual, both banks carry their own pipe to the back, and the system finishes through a 4in exit — a larger tailpipe outlet than the pipe bore behind it, for a bigger visual and exit at the rear. Even as a no-cat off-road build, it keeps a chambered muffler, so the note is settled rather than raw straight pipe.
