The MPI Automotive MKTY0104 is a 2.5in DPF-back for the VDJ200 Toyota Landcruiser with a centre muffler and a rear dump tip, built without the catalytic converter. The added centre muffler is what sets it apart: a second silencing point ahead of the rear-dump exit.
Why a centre muffler as well?
This build carries a centre muffler in addition to the rear silencing, giving two stages along the 2.5in run. The extra silencer settles the diesel note over a single-muffler layout, so it is the more subdued of the 2.5in VDJ200 systems here, finishing through a rear dump tip.
What is the rear dump exit and 2.5in bore about?
The 2.5in single-pipe bore keeps packaging tidy under the wagon, and the rear dump tip exits gas downward at the back rather than running a tailpipe past the bar. It is a DPF-back system, picking up after the particulate filter.
What does the cat-delete mean?
Built without the catalytic converter, this version is for off-road and competition use rather than registered road duty. Because it deletes the catalytic converter on a road-relevant system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road or competition use only.
