The MPI Automotive MKTY0127 is a 3in DPF-back for the VDJ79 Toyota Landcruiser V8 ute built without the catalytic converter and finished with a muffler. The cat-delete is the defining choice: this is the off-road-only path, with a chambered muffler keeping the 3in note in check.
What does deleting the cat change?
Removing the catalytic converter takes the emissions hardware out of the run, which is why this version exists for off-road and competition use rather than registered road duty. Because it deletes the catalytic converter on a road-relevant system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road or competition use only.
Why 3in with a muffler?
The single 3in bore is sized for the V8 diesel, and the chambered muffler quietens by reflection and absorption to keep the note more subdued than a straight-through design. It is a DPF-back system, picking up after the particulate filter.
