This 3in section retains the catalytic converter and uses a hotdog — a compact straight-through resonator — as its silencing element. The hotdog passes gas through a perforated core wrapped in packing, trimming harshness without choking flow, while the retained cat keeps the emissions hardware the KUN26R left the factory with in place.
