The MPI Automotive MKTY0173 is a 3in dual dpf-back system for the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200 DPF, running a centre muffler and a rear muffler with a 4in tailpipe, in a no-cat layout. As a dpf-back, it changes the system from the diesel particulate filter rearward. The slug lists this as a no-cat build, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only.
What's a dpf-back and what does it change?
A dpf-back replaces the exhaust from the diesel particulate filter back, the diesel equivalent of a cat-back: it leaves the DPF in place and opens the section behind it. On the MKTY0173 that's a twin 3in run with a centre muffler and a rear muffler, finishing through a 4in tailpipe, so the 200-Series breathes more freely downstream while the twin mufflers keep the note in check.
