The MPI Automotive MKTY0305 is a 3in cat-back for the Toyota Landcruiser UZJ100 4.7L V8, running a centre muffler and rear tailpipe. As a cat-back it changes the system from the catalytic converter rearward — the tailpipe-side upgrade rather than an engine-back job.
What does a cat-back change on the UZJ100 V8?
Cat-back replaces the exhaust from behind the catalytic converter to the tail, leaving the front of the system and the cat untouched. On the 4.7L petrol V8 it opens the back half to a 3in bore with a centre muffler and rear tailpipe, which lifts the note and flow downstream without touching the emissions hardware up front. We don't have sound data, so we won't put a number on it.
Why is this the back-half upgrade?
Because it starts at the cat, this is the bolt-on most owners reach for first: it keeps the factory front pipe and converter and concentrates the change on the section that's easiest to access and reverse. The centre muffler keeps the V8 tone present but liveable rather than raucous.
