What does the centre hotdog change?
A hotdog is a free-flowing perforated core in a wrapped body that tunes out drone without acting as a full silencer. On the VDJ79 dual cab the SSMBM252PHD-LRT puts that resonator in the 3in centre run, so it takes the boom out of the mid frequencies while keeping flow free. It's the middle path between an open centre pipe and a chambered centre muffler — quieter than open, freer than a muffler.
Why the long-range tank routing?
The -LRT designation and the listing note it suits the TLC79SCA with the LRA 90L auxiliary long-range tank: the centre pipe and hotdog are bent to route around that tank under a touring 79.
