MPI Automotive Mitsubishi Triton ML MN MQ, Challenger PB, Pajero Sport, 2.5 & 3.2L, 3in Centre Hotdog.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The SSMBM422PHD is the 3in centre hotdog for the Mitsubishi Triton ML/MN/MQ, Challenger PB and Pajero Sport 2.5L and 3.2L diesel — a straight-through resonator that trims centre-section drone while keeping the bore open.
A hotdog is a short perforated straight-through tube wrapped in packing, so it absorbs a slice of the sound energy without bouncing the gas around. Compared with running the centre as a bare pipe it takes the edge off the diesel drone, while staying far freer than a chambered muffler. It's the middle ground in this family for sound.
It suits a Triton/Challenger/Pajero Sport owner who wants the centre cleaned up acoustically but doesn't want the fuller silencing of a muffler. The 3in straight-through bore keeps flow up while knocking back the worst of the resonance on the 2.5L and 3.2L diesel.
It's listed to fit the Mitsubishi Triton ML, MN and MQ, the Challenger PB and the Pajero Sport with the 2.5L and 3.2L diesel — the shared Mitsubishi platform of that era. Confirm your exact model and engine with the workshop before ordering.
