MPI Automotive Ford Mustang V8 2 1/2In Dual X-Pipe, Centre Muffler Replacement Without Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

Built around an X-pipe crossover, the SSMBM640-X-WOM is a dual centre for the Mustang V8 that runs an X-pipe with no muffler in the middle — the open version, for the freest flow and a blended, even note. It is listed to fit the Ford Mustang V8, with a 2in muffler bore.
An X-pipe crosses the two banks of the V8 at the centre, letting pulses share between sides. That crossover tends to even out and smooth the note compared with separate pipes. In this WOM version there is no muffler in the centre, so the X-pipe's character comes through open — the loudest of the centre choices for this Mustang.
Deleting the centre muffler leaves the X-pipe crossover working with nothing to quieten it through the middle, for the most open result. The 2in muffler bore is the published figure for this part. It is the centre section only — the rear and the rest of the system still shape what reaches the tailpipe.
It is listed to fit the Ford Mustang V8; confirm your exact build with the workshop before ordering, and decide between the open X-pipe and a hotdog-equipped centre. We verify the pipework each side of the centre against your car before fitting.
