The MPI Automotive SSMBY275 is a Y-piece listed to fit the DS RAM 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi V8, made to join Manta headers to a single 3in cat-back system. It is the connecting pipe that merges the two header banks into one 3in run, not a full exhaust on its own.
What is a Y-piece and what does it do?
A Y-piece is the junction that takes the two exhaust banks of a V8 and merges them into a single pipe. On the SSMBY275 that means collecting the flow from the Manta headers and feeding it into one 3in cat-back run behind it. It is a bridging part: it sets how the front of the system meets the back, so the header outlets and the single 3in pipe line up without an adaptor.
