The MPI Automotive SSMKFD0202 is a 2.5in L-and-R cat-back for the Ford FG GT V8 5.0 sedan, running twin chambered mufflers. Built for the sedan body, its left-and-right dual layout and twin-muffler tuning make it the composed option for the FG GT 5.0.
What does L-and-R mean on the GT sedan?
L-and-R is a left-and-right dual cat-back — two rear pipes routed for the FG GT sedan body. The SSMKFD0202 keeps the factory cat and replaces from there rearward, finishing through twin mufflers so the 5.0 V8 stays civil rather than loud out the back of the sedan. The dual routing is shaped to the sedan floor rather than a ute layout.
Why twin mufflers and 2.5in?
Two chambered mufflers hold volume down through absorption, making this the subdued tune for the FG GT 5.0. At 2.5in the bore is matched to the V8 as a street dual rather than a maximum-flow build — the everyday-driver setup for a GT sedan that still spends most of its time on the road.
