The MPI Automotive SSMKFD0256T is a 3in turbo-back for the Ford PX2 and PX3 Ranger that deletes the catalytic converter and runs a hotdog resonator, finishing in a twin-tip side exit. The cat-delete paired with a hotdog is its defining combination — open emissions side, compact resonator for the note.
What does the hotdog do on this turbo-back?
Rather than a full muffler, this SSMKFD0256T uses a hotdog — a compact straight-through resonator that trims the harshness without much restriction. On the PX2/PX3 Ranger turbo-back that gives a freer-flowing character than a muffler build. It is a turbo-back at 3in, running from the turbo outlet rearward to a twin-tip side exit.
Why the cat-delete is off-road only
This SSMKFD0256T deletes the catalytic converter on a turbo-back diesel system, removing emissions hardware. That makes it not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW, and it is sold for off-road use only. We will not soften that — a registered, road-driven Ranger should run a with-cat turbo-back, and we will direct you there.
