A twin-tip side exit on a no-cat, no-muffler 3in turbo-back is what defines the MPI Automotive SSMKFD0274T, listed to fit the Ford Ranger PX2 and PX3. Deleting both the cat and the muffler and routing out the side makes it the loudest, freest build here — and off-road only.
What does the side-exit twin tip bring?
This SKU exits to a twin tip out the side, ahead of the rear wheel, rather than at the back — a layout favoured on tray-back and touring Rangers where a rear-mounted load area or towbar gets in the way. With no muffler in the run, the side exit also routes the unmuted gases clear of the rear of the ute. It's the most aggressive of the PX2/PX3 turbo-back configurations.
What does deleting the cat and muffler mean?
Running a 3in turbo-back with no catalytic converter and no muffler removes both the emissions device and the silencing. The note is at its rawest, and the compliance position is firm: a cat-delete on a turbo-back like this is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only. We don't soften that — it isn't a fitment for a Ranger you intend to keep registered.
