Running with no mufflers at all is what sets the MPI Automotive SSMKFD0275 apart — a 3in DPF-back listed to fit the Next-Gen T6.2 Ford Ranger V6. It keeps the diesel particulate filter but leaves out the silencing, making it the freest-flowing, loudest of the Ranger DPF-back builds.
What does a no-muffler DPF-back do?
With no mufflers in the run, there's no chambered silencing between the diesel particulate filter and the tailpipe — gas flows through the straightest 3in path this family offers, and the note is at its fullest. On the V6 Ranger that's the most open configuration, suited to an owner who wants maximum flow and the loudest result from a DPF-back. The DPF itself still moderates a diesel's tone, so it isn't a petrol-car bark.
What does a DPF-back cover, and what stays?
A DPF-back replaces the exhaust from the diesel particulate filter rearward, leaving the DPF and the emissions hardware ahead of it in place. At 3in it's stepped up from the factory rear section, sized for the V6. The filter stays where the factory put it — this build changes the rear pipework and removes the mufflers, not the emissions equipment.
Is the DPF retained?
Yes. As a DPF-back, the diesel particulate filter and the hardware in front of it remain fitted, keeping the Ranger closer to factory emissions behaviour than a filter-delete would. Confirm the exact build and any current state requirements with the workshop before fitting, since setups and rules vary.
