The MPI Automotive SSMKIZ0018 is the cat-delete turbo-back that runs a muffler for the DPF Isuzu MU-X 3.0L (Jan 2017 – 2025). Pairing a full turbo-back span and cat-delete with a rear muffler is its defining mix — freer flow than a with-cat run, with the muffler keeping the note controlled.
What does this turbo-back configuration cover?
A turbo-back replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet rearward — a longer span than a cat-back, where a 3.0L diesel frees up. This version deletes the catalytic converter for freer flow but keeps a muffler, so on the DPF MU-X the note stays more subdued than a hotdog or bare delete. It's the quietest of the cat-delete turbo-backs for this wagon.
Is it road legal?
Because the SSMKIZ0018 deletes the catalytic converter on the MU-X's diesel system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. Keeping a muffler controls the note but does not change that compliance status. This is an off-road or property build, not for a registered road vehicle.
