The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0055 keeps a rear muffler while deleting the catalytic converter: a 3in dual system for the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200 that finishes through a 4in exit. The muffler tempers the tone the cat-delete would otherwise let through.
What does keeping the muffler change here?
Unlike the fully stripped layout, this build retains its rear muffler. The muffler quietens by absorption and reflection inside its body, so even with the catalytic converter removed the note stays more controlled than a system with nothing in the rear.
