The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0106 is the 2.5in build with a rear-dump tip: a DPF-back system for the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200, run with a muffler and no catalytic converter. With the cat removed from a road exhaust, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only.
What does the no-cat 2.5in involve?
This SSMKTY0106 deletes the catalytic converter, making it an off-road part. Removing the cat from the VDJ200 DPF-back system strips emissions hardware the wagon had from the factory, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW. The 2.5in bore is the keener-sized single-pipe build for off-road or property use, not a registered vehicle.
Why a rear-dump tip?
Rather than running a tailpipe around to the bumper, this system finishes with a rear-dump tip that exits ahead of the rear of the vehicle. That keeps the pipework simpler and tucks the exit up, a practical choice for an off-road wagon where a long tailpipe is just something to catch on terrain. The muffler ahead of it keeps the note settled.
