The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0109 is a dual 3in DPF-back system for the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200, run with mufflers exiting left and right and no catalytic converter. With the cat removed from a road exhaust, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only.
What does the no-cat dual 3in involve?
This SSMKTY0109 deletes the catalytic converter, making it an off-road part. Removing the cat from the VDJ200 DPF-back system strips out emissions hardware the wagon left the factory with, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW. The twin 3in path gives the V8 turbo-diesel generous flow for competition or off-road use, not a registered vehicle.
Why left-and-right muffler exits?
The system splits into two 3in pipes that finish through mufflers exiting on each side, so flow is balanced across the rear and the note stays settled rather than raw. Running mufflers instead of straight-through resonators keeps cabin drone in check on a long off-road day, the more subdued treatment for a big wagon.
