The MPI Automotive SSMKTY0184 is a 3in dual turbo-back for the DPF-model Toyota Landcruiser VDJ200 V8 that deletes the catalytic converters and runs no mufflers, exiting left and right. The cat-delete defines it: with both converters gone and no mufflers in the run, this is the most open, off-road-only configuration in this VDJ200 dual range.
Why this is an off-road-only system
Because the SSMKTY0184 removes the catalytic converters on a road-relevant diesel system, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. With no mufflers either, there is nothing in the path to restrict flow or absorb sound. There is no softening the cat-delete — it takes the 200 Series out of road-legal emissions configuration, so we fit it for genuine off-road use only.
What does 3in dual, no cats, no mufflers give you?
This is a 3in dual turbo-back that splits into left and right exits, with neither converters nor mufflers in the path — the most open of this VDJ200 dual family. There is no chambering to absorb sound and no converters to restrict flow, so the note is loud and hard. The dual L-and-R exit is the visible signature. It suits a built VDJ200 V8 run off-road where flow is the priority.
